Well, I think more than just "the end of it" sounds like they want to appeal to the original fans of Yu Gi Oh who are kinda fed up with the new heroes of the series.
It's like the new DBZ movie that is reviving Frieza. Frieza sucks, but he's a classic fan favorite.
